We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join us as Manager, Data Engineering who has experience in data streaming and platform engineering.
Mandatory Skill(s)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
- Proven experience in leading and managing data engineering and platform engineering teams;
- Strong understanding of data engineering principles, best practices, and technologies;
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements and develop effective solutions;
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at various levels;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Experience with Agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams;
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure, and their data services;
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality concepts;
- Strong leadership abilities with the capability to motivate and inspire team members;
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Desirable Skill(s)
- Experience with Insurance Industry.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of data engineers and platform engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure successful project delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project goals, objectives, and scope;
- Translate business requirements into technical requirements and develop data engineering solutions that meet those requirements;
- Create comprehensive project plans that outline tasks, timelines, and resource requirements;
- Coordinate and communicate with the project team and stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity of project objectives;
- Manage risks and issues, proactively identifying potential roadblocks and developing mitigation strategies;
- Monitor project progress, track key metrics, and provide regular updates to stakeholders;
- Conduct regular meetings with the team to assess project status, address challenges, and ensure deliverables are on track;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of data engineering solutions with existing systems and processes;
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends in data engineering and platform engineering;
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
