Application Support Manager – Java

An exciting opportunity for experienced Java Production Support professionals to step up as a VP in the financial services industry.

Mandatory Skill(s)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information System or Information Technology;
• At least 8 years of experience working in application production support related activities such as incident management, IT operations, release and change management in the financial services sector;
• Hands-on experience in IT Operations or L2 / L3 Production Support;
• Strong technical experience in Java, J2EE, JMS, Swift, Webservices, Micro Service, Oracle, UNIX, IBM MQ Series, CTRL+M, Open Shift Platform, Splunk, Geneos;
• Experience in Disaster Recovery planning and test execution;
• Experience in vendor management;
• Strong analytical, problem solving and trouble shooting skills.

Desirable Skill(s)

• Experience in ITIL process;
• Experience in supporting mission critical applications within the financial services industry.

Responsibilities

• Manage production operational issues: respond, investigate, resolve and determine escalation protocols;
• Support automated health checks, file status checks and inter-application checks;
• Monitor and report production activities, improve processes, and identify efficiency initiatives;
• Evaluate alternative risks and solutions before takin action to provide timely resolution;
• Conduct annual Disaster Recovery exercise and assist in restoring services after maintenance / patching;
• Investigate and provide workarounds for issues, and share analysis with L3 team;
• Build relationships with technical staff, end users, and clients;
• Ensure daily completion of end-of-day batch process for multiple applications;
• Generate one-time reports based on user or audit requests.
